SEO Pricing: Every BigRed Price, What It Includes and What It Doesn't

SEO pricing at BigRed is published in full on this page: every service, its starting price, what it includes, and how the final quote gets set. No "book a call to see pricing." If a number is going to decide whether we work together, you should see it first.

All prices are in USD and shown as "Starting at," as of October 2026. Canadian clients can pay the CAD equivalent at the day's exchange rate. Taxes are extra where they apply.

If you already know roughly what you need, the questionnaire takes a few minutes, and I reply with a plan and a fixed quote within one business day.

What's not included

"Starting at" means the minimum scope above. Anything outside the includes column is quoted separately, in writing, before any work starts. A few exclusions come up often enough to list:

  • Ad spend. Your Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and social ad budgets are paid by you, straight to the platform. My fee is separate.
  • Video. Social media management doesn't include video production. It's quoted separately.
  • Recovery work after a traffic-drop diagnostic. The $2,000 diagnostic finds the cause and writes the plan. Fixing it is a separate quote, because the fix can be anything from one redirect rule to a content rebuild.
  • The free website check excludes keyword research, a full crawl, backlink analysis and implementation. It tells you what's wrong. It doesn't fix it.
  • Taxes, where they apply.

What moves a quote above the starting price

The starting price fits a typical small business site. These are the usual reasons a quote comes in higher, and I'll name the reason in the quote itself:

  • Size. More pages, more products, more locations. A 2,000-page store isn't a 15-page service site.
  • Condition. Several hacked sites in one hosting account, or a migration with years of redirect chains, take more hours.
  • Competition. A dental clinic fighting for "Invisalign" in a big metro needs more monthly work than the only farrier within 60 miles.
  • Ad spend. Google Ads management is the higher of $750/mo or 15% of spend, so the fee scales once spend passes $5,000 a month.
  • Urgency. Emergency hack cleanups cost more because I drop other work. I start within a few hours during business hours (Pacific and Eastern time zones).

How quotes work

  1. You fill in the questionnaire for the service you need, or the general one if you're not sure.
  2. I reply with a plan and a fixed quote within one business day. The quote names the scope, the price, what's excluded, and a typical timeline with what could make it longer.
  3. You decide. No follow-up pressure. If you say no, that's the end of it.
  4. If the scope changes mid-project, I stop, tell you why, and quote the change before doing it. You never get a surprise invoice.

Fixed quotes are for one-off projects. Monthly work is a fixed monthly fee for the scope in the quote, with the hours logged in each report.

SEO packages and prices compared with the market

Here's how these prices sit against published market data, so you're not taking my word for it:

What Market data BigRed, starting at
Monthly SEO retainer In the US and Canada, 79.1% of SEO providers charge at least $1,001 a month (Ahrefs survey) $1,000/mo local
Hourly SEO help $100 to $149 an hour is the most common US and Canada band on Clutch (updated September 2026) $100/hour
Google Ads management One large US agency starts at $750 a month, then $975 or 15% of spend for bigger budgets $500 setup + $750/mo or 15%
Hacked WordPress recovery Typically $200 to $2,000+, depending on severity (Codeable) $300 standard, $500 emergency

My prices sit at the low end of the typical range for independent specialists and small agencies in major US and Canadian cities. Not the cheapest, not the agency tier. If you want the long version of what each budget level buys, my guide to what SEO really costs per month breaks it into hours.

SEO prices for Canada

Canadian agencies often quote in Canadian dollars at the same numbers US agencies quote in US dollars. BigRed keeps one price list in USD, and Canadian clients pay the CAD equivalent at the day's exchange rate, so a $1,000 USD service costs whatever $1,000 USD converts to on the day. Compare converted figures when you shop around. The Canadian SEO services page covers the rest, including bilingual sites and Quebec requirements.

Pricing FAQ

Why do you publish prices when most agencies don't?

Because the price is usually the first thing an owner wants to know, and a call shouldn't be the toll for finding out. Publishing it also saves us both time. If $1,000 a month is out of reach right now, you know before filling in a form, and you can look at a one-off audit, a few consulting hours or the free check instead.

Are these fixed prices or estimates?

The numbers on this page are starting prices for the minimum scope listed. After you fill in the questionnaire, I send a fixed quote for your site. For one-off projects, that quote is the price. If the scope changes partway through, I quote the change before doing any extra work, and you decide whether to go ahead.

Do Canadian clients pay in USD or CAD?

Prices are listed and invoiced in USD, and Canadian clients can pay the CAD equivalent at the day's exchange rate. Taxes are added where they apply.

Is there a long-term contract for SEO?

Monthly SEO has a 3-month minimum, because SEO takes a few months to show results and a shorter trial rarely tells you anything. After that it's month to month. One-off projects such as audits, migrations and cleanups have no ongoing commitment at all.

Does the Google Ads fee include my ad budget?

No. Your ad budget goes straight to Google (or Microsoft), billed to your own card on your own account. My management fee is separate: $500 for setup, then $750 a month or 15% of ad spend, whichever is higher. At $3,000 a month in spend, that's $750. At $8,000, it's $1,200.

What if I only need a small piece of a service?

Ask. Many owners need one fix, not a package. SEO consulting is billed by the hour, on-page work by the page, and links one at a time. If what you need isn't on the list, describe it in the questionnaire and I'll tell you whether it's something I do and what it costs.
